The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada has a variety of excellent study programs that concentrate on Multidisciplinary fields that are able to compete and compete with world-class universities. The advantage of the Multidisciplinary Study Program is that it is able to provide scientific contributions to every problem and challenge of the world with various points of view of scientific disciplines, so that it can provide appropriate and accurate solutions.

The Center for Religious and Cross-cultural Studies (CRCS) at the Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was established in 2000.
The Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies (PSPSR), Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada was established in 1991. This study program is the first art master's study program in Indonesia.

UGM toward World-Class University encourages Graduate School to develop research to implement one of the pillars of education. The Graduate School supports the advancement of science and ensures research productivity and continuity for master and doctoral study programs by creating a conducive academic atmosphere and encouraging lecturers to do research projects. Starting in 2010, Graduate School has compiled a research grant for lecturers through the Annual Budget Plan (Rencana Anggaran Tahunan), providing funding up to IDR 20,000,000.00 - 30,000,000.00 for each selected proposal.
Graduate School conducts national seminars and workshops, and international conferences to support the progress of multidisciplinary in accordance with the science developed in Graduate School. Regulars events in the faculty are seminars on student research, seminars on lecturer grant research competition, and International Graduate Students and Scholars' Conference in Indonesia (IGSSCI) attended by students, lecturers, researchers, and practitioners.
Community Services as one of Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) try to address challenges and opportunities for the nation's problems through an multidisciplinary perspective. Study Programs at Graduate School accomplish community service activities in religion and culture, tourism, biomedical engineering, environment and disasters, demography, biotechnology, and so on. Community Services must be done by lecturers, students, and academic staffs.
In order to improve the quantity and quality of community services, Graduate School collaborates with study programs; faculties and government/private partners; and industry. The roadmap of Community Service is a guiding framework for all student creativity programs at Graduate School.
