National and international recognition:

1. Position at national level

Graduate School Faculty of UGM is managing multidisciplinary study programs based on Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. UGM Graduate and Postgraduate Program was officially established based on Presidential Decree No. 53 of 1982, on September 7, 1982. The date known as the anniversary of Graduate School Faculty. It was officially a sign of the establishment of graduate and postgraduate program at Gadjah Mada University. An important change of UGM Graduate and Postgraduate Study Program after the issuance of the Chancellor's Decree Number 260 / P / SKIHT / 2004 on November 8, 2004, concerning the change of the Graduate and Postgraduate Program into Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Graduate School is expected to be able to support the vision of Universitas Gadjah Mada in realizing World Class Research University, a research university that can be proud of by the Indonesian people and able to be known internationally and internationally, as well as being an Excellent Graduate University, both at the National, Regional and international.

2. Position at international level

Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada has been recognized internationally. It is demonstrated by the establishment of various kinds of cooperation with several universities abroad, namely Chiangmai University, Monash University, Gifu University, Ibaraki University, Osaka University, Shizuoka University, Tun Hussein University Onn Malaysia and Tsukuba University. The collaboration in academic field in the form of double degree program, visiting lecture, and student exchange.
