Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that this program is part of SPs' initiative to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production. "This effort must start within ourselves by sorting waste diligently," she said.
In addition to enforcing the rules, the Dean of SPs also collaborates with the local village chief and RT chief in the Graduate School surrounding area for waste management. This cooperation is expected to strengthen the sustainable waste management system in the Graduate School environment.
The implementation of stricter waste segregation rules, the Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., hopes to set an example for other faculties/ schools within Universitas Gadjah Mada and other educational institutions in terms of responsible and sustainable waste management.
