UGM Graduate School and Vienna University of Technology Austria Build Partnership for Quality Education and SDGs Goals

The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) held a strategic meeting with Prof. A. Min Tjoa from the Computer Science department at Vienna University of Technology Austria. The meeting took place in the sidang pimpinan room of SPs UGM on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, as a manifestation of both institutions' commitment to building partnerships to enhance the quality of education and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the meeting, delegates from SPs UGM and Vienna University of Technology Austria engaged in intensive discussions on various cooperation programs, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and curriculum development relevant to the needs of industry and society.

Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of SPs UGM, stated, "We are very excited about this opportunity to forge a close partnership with Vienna University of Technology Austria. This partnership will provide great opportunities for our students and staff to gain valuable international experience."

Meanwhile, Prof. A. Min Tjoa from the Computer Science department at Vienna University of Technology Austria warmly welcomed this cooperation. He stated, "We believe that cross-border cooperation between higher education institutions is key to creating a better world. We hope to contribute positively to the development of education at SPs UGM."

This strategic meeting is also part of SPs UGM's efforts to support the achievement of SDGs, particularly in terms of partnerships for goals (SDG 17), which emphasize the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation to achieve shared objectives.

The partnership between SPs UGM and Vienna University of Technology Austria is expected to have a positive impact on both institutions and the communities in both countries. By building a strong network of partnerships, both institutions hope to make significant contributions to creating a better and more sustainable future for education.
